Prince William has postponed a royal engagement originally scheduled for Thursday at the regiments in Wattisham, Suffolk. The decision came due to poor weather conditions, as confirmed by Kensington Palace. While a new date for the engagement has yet to be set, royal experts predict a promising future for William and his wife, Catherine, in 2025.
Last year marked a significant milestone for Prince William, who embraced a solo global-statesman role. However, Catherine is expected to join him more frequently in his duties moving forward. Robert Jobson, a royal biographer, noted, "Last year was an exceptional year, and William stepped up into a solo global-statesman role, but going forward, I think Catherine will spend more time at his side."
Catherine has recently announced that her cancer is in remission. Ahead of her planned visit to The Royal Marsden hospital in Chelsea, London, where she received chemotherapy treatment, she expressed gratitude for the care she received during her illness.
"I wanted to take the opportunity to say thank you to The Royal Marsden for looking after me so well during the past year." – Kate
"My heartfelt thanks go to all those who have quietly walked alongside William and me as we have navigated everything. We couldn’t have asked for more. The care and advice we have received throughout my time as a patient has been exceptional." – Kate
Despite the challenges faced during her treatment, Catherine remains optimistic about the future. Her recovery has paved the way for her gradual return to royal duties alongside Prince William. Catherine expressed her relief at being in remission and her focus on recovery.
"It is a relief to now be in remission and I remain focused on recovery. As anyone who has experienced a cancer diagnosis will know, it takes time to adjust to a new normal. I am, however, looking forward to a fulfilling year ahead. There is much to look forward to. Thank you to everyone for your continued support." – Kate
Catherine was scheduled to arrive at the flying station in a Wildcat Helicopter, part of the AAC's reconnaissance aircraft fleet. Although the engagement has been postponed indefinitely due to weather conditions, Kensington Palace confirmed that it will be rescheduled.
