Briar Hill Infant School on Coppice Road, Whitnash, Leamington Spa. Recently, it has begun to receive national acclaim for delivering an amazing educational experience. The BBC CWR Breakfast Show visited the school, which was recently named a Star School. This national publicity recognized its outstanding accomplishments and robust community engagement. This time inspectors visited the school in May. During their visit, they applauded its supportive learning environment and focus on students’ growth.
During their stay, inspectors were pleased to see that the pupils at Briar Hill showed warmth and compassion towards each other. This community-oriented behavior fosters a deep sense of belonging within students. It creates a caring community where kids can grow and prosper. The report highlighted how the school’s nurturing environment allows students to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Briar Hill Infant School received children from age four and up to age seven. It sets them up for success on their long educational road ahead. What inspectors found was that students thrived in their academic endeavors. They participated in the social and emotional learning (SEL) process. It’s this mycelial approach to education that will best prepare our children to face challenges we can’t even envision today.
The school’s dedication to the principle of community engagement permeates its work, such as in these selected projects. Pupils have been involved in projects including visiting a local care home, where they hosted board games with residents. These types of events and activities deepen students’ learning, improve wellbeing, and build community connections.
