Blake Lively Embraces Capri and Confidence in “Another Simple Favor” Sequel

Blake Lively returns to the big screen with renewed confidence in "Another Simple Favor," the sequel to the successful 2018 film, "A Simple Favor." The sequel, set to premiere on Prime Video on May 1, brings back Lively's character, Emily, a convicted socialite who is now out of prison and planning a wedding in the picturesque locale of Capri, Italy. Lively, enthusiastic about her experience working on this film, expressed a desire to live in Capri, touting it as a phenomenal location.

In the original film, Lively admitted to feeling nervous due to the film's ambiguous tone. Director Paul Feig's lack of clear direction during shooting left her uncertain.

"When we asked Paul, he said, 'Yes,' which is not really an answer to the question," – Blake Lively

This uncertainty was a significant challenge for the actress. However, the first film's success boosted her confidence in approaching the sequel.

"I was like, 'Okay, no nerves. I know what I'm doing this time,'" – Blake Lively

The sequel introduces a new element that keeps Lively alert and engaged as she navigates Emily's evolving story. Her character is more assured and adventurous, reflecting Lively's comfort with the role. Inspired by Robert Downey Jr.'s performance in "Kiss Kiss Bang Bang," Lively approached her character with a more carefree attitude this time around.

"I love this character so much. It's probably my favorite character I've ever been fortunate enough to play." – Blake Lively

The decision to film in Capri added an enchanting layer to the movie's backdrop. Despite initial budget concerns over shooting in such an exquisite location, Feig's vision won out.

"Paul, he wanted to shoot in Capri, and I was like, 'That sounds amazing, but it's very expensive, and let's just shoot in Connecticut — that's where the first one took place,'" – Blake Lively
