Ashley Tisdale’s Daughter Mistakes Zac Efron for Dad in High School Musical Viewing

Ashley Tisdale recently shared a humorous family anecdote involving her toddler daughter while discussing her experiences as a mom. In June, she was asked to comment on both Vanessa Hudgens and herself transitioning into motherhood. Tisdale, who played the flamboyant Sharpay Evans in Disney Channel's hit movie High School Musical, revealed that her older daughter, Jupiter, watched the 2006 film and had a surprising reaction. The young girl mistook Tisdale's co-star, Zac Efron, for her real father.

"And she thought Zac Efron was her dad. I was like, 'No! That's not daddy.' She was like, 'Daddy!' I was like, 'No, no, no! Just cause they have dark hair… not Daddy.'" – Ashley Tisdale

The delightful mix-up happened while Jupiter enjoyed watching the musical movie, which continues to air even though the franchise stopped producing new episodes in 2015. In addition to High School Musical, Jupiter frequently watches Phineas and Ferb, where Tisdale voiced the character Candace Flynn. During an appearance on the podcast Breaking Beauty, Tisdale commented on her daughter's reactions to seeing her onscreen in various roles.

Tisdale has been married to musician Christopher French since September 2014. Together, they have two daughters: Jupiter, who will turn four in March, and Emerson, who is just four months old as of September. The actress enjoys sharing snippets of her family's daily life and the amusing moments that come with parenting.

High School Musical originally premiered in 2006 and quickly became a cultural phenomenon. Tisdale's portrayal of Sharpay Evans remains beloved by fans worldwide. Despite the passage of time, the movie's catchy songs and vibrant dance numbers continue to captivate audiences both young and old.

In addition to her role as a mom, Tisdale maintains a successful career in entertainment. Her voice work on Phineas and Ferb still resonates with viewers who fondly remember the animated series. As her daughters grow, Tisdale embraces the joys and challenges of motherhood, often finding humor in unexpected situations like her daughter's case of mistaken identity.
