Apple’s ‘Find My’ Feature Finally Lands in South Korea Following User Advocacy

Apple's Find My network, a popular tool for locating compatible gadgets and devices, has finally made its debut in South Korea. Previously unavailable in the region, this development comes after a successful petition by South Korean users last July. The petition urged Apple to enable the Find My feature in their country, and now, the tech giant has responded positively. Unlike many other regions, the feature was disabled in South Korea due to a company decision rather than any government-imposed restrictions.

The Find My feature is now accessible to South Korean users running the latest iOS 18.4 beta 1. To access this service, users must enroll in the Apple Beta Program by signing in with an Apple account and downloading the newest iOS update. This rollout allows users in South Korea to share the location of their items with law enforcement or airline officials, greatly enhancing the chances of recovering lost or stolen items.

Apple's Bluetooth location trackers, known as AirTags, have been widely praised by users for their efficiency in keeping tabs on non-electronic items. Integrated with the Find My network, AirTags offer a reliable solution for locating various personal belongings. Moreover, the feature includes an activation lock aimed at deterring potential thieves, further increasing its appeal.

Initially, Apple announced that the Find My feature and support would be available in South Korea by Spring 2025. However, due to the overwhelming demand and user advocacy, the tech company expedited its release. This move has been met with appreciation from South Korean users who can now benefit from the security and convenience offered by the Find My network.
