Apple Music is preparing to unveil a new studio in Los Angeles this summer, marking what the company describes as “its most ambitious creative project to date.” This cutting-edge facility enhances the collaborative experience for artists and content creators. It has afforded a venue for that collaboration to happen and that creative expression to flourish.
The new studio spans an awe-inspiring 4,000 square feet. It’s amply equipped with cutting edge amenities that lend themselves ideally to just about any artistic pursuit. Among its highlights are two Spatial Audio-enabled radio suites, which will open up new possibilities for immersive sound. The studio will include a sophisticated mixing room equipped with a cutting-edge 9.2.4 PMC speaker system, ensuring top-tier audio quality for all projects.
To continue to encourage creative use of the space, the studio will have multiple sound-isolated booths intended for private songwriting, podcasting, and interviewing. These spaces will allow artists and creators to have the peace and quiet necessary to cultivate their work without distraction. An artist green room will be provided for artists to hang out and warm up before their sessions.
Famed architect Eric Owen Moss designed the studio’s striking appearance. It’s an ideal embodiment of Apple Music’s ongoing mission to connect artists and promote creative collaboration. The space includes photography/photobooth and social media labs, and there’s a clear focus on digital/modern content creation. This configuration allows artists the opportunity to showcase their creative process and connect with audiences in a more dynamic way.
Rachel Newman, Apple Music’s co-head, introduced a focus on narrative to their music programming.
“Apple Music Radio has always been a home for storytelling and artistry, serving as a space for bold conversations and surprising moments,” – Rachel Newman, Apple Music’s co-head.
The new studio reflects this spirit. It provides the right conditions for creators to take risks, fuel their artistic potential and make lasting connections with their audience.
