Anticipation Builds for Final Season of The Summer I Turned Pretty

The beloved series “The Summer I Turned Pretty” is set to return to Prime Video for its final season on July 16. Based on Jenny Han’s New York Times bestselling book series, this coming-of-age story has captured the hearts of fans. It captures romance and the bonds of friendship with tender insight. Jenny Han is showrunner, as well as an executive producer. She delivers on that promise with an emotionally charged finale to Belly Conklin’s story.

The time jump is a very clever way to start the new season. Belly Conklin, portrayed by Lola Tung, is recently coming to the close of her junior year in college. She, too, can’t wait to be back in Cousins Beach! This summer, she’ll make the most magical memories with her true love and soulmate, Jeremiah Fisher, who’s played by Gavin Casalegno. The teaser trailer that just dropped provides a few key insights into their romantic relationship and the hurdles they’ll face going forward.

In the brief preview, observant fans can see Gavin Casalegno teasingly biting a candy cane in his lips. This lighthearted scene perfectly captures the playful chemistry between the couple! The accompanying music enhances the emotional tone. Taylor Swift’s song “Red” from her album plays during key scenes, while “Daylight” from the album “Lover” underscores a montage of Belly and Jeremiah’s relationship.

As this love triangle comes to life, Belly is going to have to decide between the Fisher brothers. Her ex, Conrad Fisher, played by Christopher Briney, further complicates things as long-buried feelings resurface.

“It’s the end of her junior year of college, and Belly’s looking forward to another summer in Cousins with her soulmate, Jeremiah.”

This gripping setup makes way for an emotionally charged journey where Belly must confront the full scope of her emotions. Jenny Han has crafted a narrative that resonates with viewers, ensuring that the concluding season will be both heartwarming and bittersweet.

The teaser sets up the series’ signature themes of love, self-discovery, and finding one’s place in the world, which have become the series’ calling card. With lyrics like “I once believed love would be burnin’ red, but it’s golden,” from Taylor Swift, the soundtrack promises to enhance the storytelling experience.
