Airline Impersonator Convicted of Fraudulent Ticket Scheme

Tiron Alexander, a 35-year-old man, was found guilty by a federal jury for a series of fraudulent activities involving airline travel. The jury returned guilty verdicts on all four counts of wire fraud. They charged him with improper entry into an airport security area. The title case also illustrates a complex conspiracy where Alexander was able to obtain free flights through impersonating airline employees.

Between 2018 and 2024, Alexander scammed the U.S. Treasury out of a detailed and elaborate plot to game airline ticketing networks. He successfully impersonated a flight attendant and a pilot. This brilliant subterfuge meant he could buy tickets not available to you or me, but only to airline staffers. Throughout his scam, he was able to fly 34 times without ever paying for a flight in advance. His actions were misleading and caused serious risks to aviation security at airports nationwide.

Alexander’s impersonation also included accessing ticketing systems from major airlines, where he was able to impersonate having affiliation with seven different airlines. He also didn’t realize that his new employer—an airline with its operating roots in Dallas—would ruin his airport access, since he wasn’t a pilot or flight attendant. This reality served to underscore the breadth of his deception.

The indictment against Alexander was filed in Florida, as this is where he committed the bulk of his fraudulent activities and where he was facing the most severe charges. His words and actions put him in serious legal harm, finally resulting in said conviction over the weekend. Our conclusion after weeks of discussion and consideration of the evidence shown throughout the federal jury trial, our decision was reached.

As a result of this legal process, Tiron Alexander was defended by public defenders from the office in Miami. The court has assigned his sentencing for late August. He might have faced 20 years in prison for each of the wire fraud counts and 10 more years for entering the airport’s secure area without permission.
