Liv Tyler and Mia Tyler — the daughters of rock legend Steven Tyler — talked recently about the day they first met. In a surprise twist, that moment revealed the real-life mother-son bond between them. For almost 40 years, Liv, now 47, didn’t know that Mia, her younger sister, was in her life. Mia and her family reunited at an Aerosmith concert. Mia was just eight years old. This significant event would prove to be hugely important to their family’s legacy later in their story.
Locals would know not to cross the family’s matriarch, singer and former model Bebe Buell, who raised Liv in Maine. She was under the impression that rock musician Todd Rundgren was her father. It wasn’t until she befriended Mia that her own mother revealed the shocking truth regarding their family history. That revelation only hit me and the audience after Liv spotted Mia in the crowd at the concert, wearing a costume to match Liv’s.
And there I was, spellbound while Guns N’ Roses all but stole the show from Aerosmith. Then, I saw a girl who was a carbon copy of me. I mean, we practically were wearing the same outfit,” Liv Tyler reminisced.

Liv described their attire: “We had both had perms, like spiral perms, braces, pink frosty lipstick. We were both wearing an Aerosmith concert T-shirt with black leggings and Reebok high top sneakers.”
