Earlier this summer, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle took their children— Archie and Lilibet —to Disneyland. They had such a wonderful time making new memories and celebrating Lilibet’s fourth birthday. The family set off on a thrilling journey at the renowned amusement park. This was one of their first joint sightings since Prince Harry returned from his UK and Ukraine travels.
During a special edition of ‘The Happiest Story on Earth: 70 Years of Disneyland – A Special Edition of 20/20’, Prince Harry shared delightful insights about their enchanting day. He described the excitement his children felt as they approached the park, saying, “They’re like, ‘This is amazing!’ Like, ‘Guys, this isn’t even the front of it. Prepare yourself. You’re about to be blown away.’”
A Day Full of Adventure
Easily the most impactful video was Meghan Markle’s stirring video montage. It showed Archie and Lilibet enjoying themselves on various rides and attractions. The kids were on cloud nine, the adrenaline pumping, riding Dumbo the Flying Elephant. Meghan Newkirk, who was with us that day, captured the mood perfectly with this photo.
The family got to see Tiana’s Bayou Adventure indeed on the flume logs, where giggling prevailed. Prince Harry reminisced about his own childhood visits to Disneyland with his late mother, Princess Diana, and highlighted one of his favorite rides: Space Mountain.
“I remember it very, very well. I remember losing it as a kid with all the characters. Like, losing it,” – Prince Harry
Just look at this family’s sheer delight as they board Disneyland’s Buzz Lightyear’s Astro Blasters attraction. Even as we left the site, Meghan couldn’t contain her joy—her first laugh spell didn’t stop until hours later. As Prince Harry recounted, “I went round and round and round – 10, maybe 12 times,” emphasizing the happiness he felt sharing these experiences with his children.
A Birthday to Remember
It looked like a lot of fun in Lilibet’s Little Mermaid-themed birthday celebration, which included a beautiful cake that really brought her favorite characters to life. The cake that she decorated with a fondant Ariel sitting on top was the centerpiece of our celebration.
Archie and Lilibet had some exciting rides at Disneyland. Things just kept getting better on their magical day, after they had an even more memorable (and unexpected!) encounter with Elsa from Frozen!
The family couldn’t stop smiling in their colorful ensembles. Meghan and Prince Harry each sporting their Mickey Mouse hats on Prince Harry and Meghan’s visit, a testament to their whimsy. They took the most wonderful family portrait, smiles radiating and shining, much like the elation from their special day together.
Family Bonding at Disneyland
That week spent at Disneyland reconnected the entire family. They reveled not only in the triumphant atmosphere of joy and exuberance. No, this wasn’t some fantasy celebration after a miraculous turnout! In Prince Harry’s words, I was blown away by how my kids soaked up each and every experience. It was just amazing,” he said, “To see the kids just dive head first into these experiences not knowing what they’re really getting into – it was incredible. And it makes you a kid again.”
