Prince Harry Apologizes for World Series Hat Choice and Affirms Support for Blue Jays

Well, Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex, just made a very public apology to Canada. The Los Angeles Dodgers baseball cap he donned during Game 4 of the 2025 World Series on October 28 was the most divisive. He joined the game with his wife, Meghan Markle. Despite his deep roots with the Toronto Blue Jays, he still showed up in a Dodgers cap. The Duke of Cambridge said he was “very sorry” about his decision, reaffirming his love for the Canadian side.

Prince Harry’s recent appearance at the World Series presented an unusual opportunity. He noted, “First off I want to say sorry to Canada for wearing it. Secondly, I was under duress. There wasn’t much choice.” He eventually accepted an invitation to the Dodgers’ owners’ box from Walter O’Malley. That gesture helped sway his decision to put on the team’s cap.

During the game, Prince Harry’s friend Kelly McKee Zajfen confirmed his allegiance to Canada’s Blue Jays. … and he was most certainly rooting for them! After the Dodgers’ championship win, Meghan posted a video of her ecstatic on her Instagram Story. The Duke’s double loyalties sparked a comic fabulousness controversy that resulted in his eventual apology.

“I’m gonna wear this from now on, to make sure I don’t make any more of those mistakes.” – Prince Harry

Following his appearance in Los Angeles, Prince Harry traveled to Toronto at the invitation of the True Patriot Love Foundation. His visit started this past November 5th. It featured a major series of community events to raise awareness for the needs of the Canadian Armed Forces and veterans.

On November 5, he participated alongside members of the Queen’s Own Rifles of Canada. His visit included time with the Royal Regiment of Canada that day. The following day, his first stop was at the Sunnybrook Veterans Centre in Toronto, where he had a deeply personal exchange with veterans. He tagged along with some remarkable people like Brenda Reid, a 101-year-old WWII Navy veteran. He met 95-year-old Korean war vet and Army veteran, Harold Toth.

HRH Prince Harry’s commitment to the care of veterans is long-standing and demonstrated by his actions on this trip. During his visit on November 6, veterans presented him with a Toronto Blue Jays hat. He made a solemn pledge to wear it at all of his upcoming public appearances.

“But no, I’m very sorry to the Canadian public. Devastated that the Blue Jays lost, but go Jays!” – Prince Harry

Though he approached it all with comedic flair, he shone a spotlight on the need to take care of our veterans and military families. His most recent appearances highlight his commitment to exploring new frontiers in the care for our veterans and reestablish his Canadian connections.
