Injury Forces Elaine Hendrix to Miss ‘Dancing with the Stars’ Live Show

Elaine Hendrix of “Dancing with the Stars” fame had to miss the live elimination show on Tuesday night. She incurred an injury during rehearsal that made her unable to perform. The injury happened while rehearsing for her upcoming solo to “Bad to the Bone.” After this unexpected incident, all her fans are thinking of her health and safety and wondering how she can return to the competition.

The incident happened during the run-through for “Wicked” night. Hendrix and her partner, Alan Bersten, had just blown America’s collective socks off with a contemporary dance performance set to “Defying Gravity.” That’s why last week, they put together a show-stopping performance. It was their best score ever this season, 32 with perfect 8s across the board. In rehearsal for the show that would open the next day, Hendrix began to experience extreme pain. Her ribs, which had broken while performing “Defying Gravity,” became increasingly unmanageable.

Witness testimony claims it was then that Hendrix abruptly stiffened and said she couldn’t walk or breathe. Medics quickly responded to the situation, and she was taken out of the ballroom on a stretcher, surrounded by medical personnel.

Hendrix would later go on to release a video from her hospital room via Instagram, thanking her fans and explaining her condition.

“I injured my ribs during ‘Defying Gravity’ and today, they just seized up and I couldn’t move,” – Elaine Hendrix.

>Although this injury has put a hurdle home, she is undeniably still focused on going further in the competition. The doctor said all she needs is a few days of bed rest. From there, she should be all set to get back to her twirling!

“They brought me to the hospital, but the doctor said that with a day or two of rest, I should be able to continue and that’s exactly what I want to do,” – Elaine Hendrix.

After her elimination, Hendrix said that she plans to continue competing and promised her new fans that she is going to bring her all to the show.

“I want to dance, I want to keep doing this, so Alan is holding down the fort, he’s amazing, he’s awesome,” – Elaine Hendrix.

In the same interview, Alan Bersten spoke about how much he cares for his partner. To illustrate that, he focused on her pain at the time of the accident.

“Elaine froze and said she can’t move, she can’t breathe,” – Alan Bersten.

Always the optimist, even after their bottom spot, Hendrix was urging fans to vote for her and Bersten to come back next week. She is one of the remaining nine contestants in the competition and has garnered a strong fan base throughout her journey on the show.

Hendrix’s battle isn’t the only one taking place on “Dancing with the Stars.” “Dancing with the Stars” is no stranger to dining drama. Previously, we would be criticized for the couple’s run through when injuries or illnesses occurred.
