The Toronto Blue Jays punched their ticket to the World Series! On the cusp of elimination, they executed a stunning 4-3 comeback win over the Houston Astros in Game 7 of the American League Championship Series (ALCS). It stayed that way until George Springer came up huge with a game-changing three-run homer in the seventh inning. This mammoth blow handed the Blue Jays their most much-needed advantage. This triumph is the franchise’s first World Series berth since 1992 and 1993.
The pivotal moment came when Springer—an incredible performer throughout the entire series—hit a three-run home run. His deep contact scored Isiah Kiner-Falefa and Addison Barger on their way home. This powerful, two-run clutch whack pushed the Blue Jays past the late-inning Blue Jays, 4-3. Springer’s spectacular run during the ALCS was on full display, highlighted by a historic 1.473 OPS and a series-leading nine hits—three of them homers.
Hope stuck with the Blue Jays, as Dalton Varsho got the Jays on the board in the first inning by bringing home Springer with a single. The Exhibition series pitching staff, headlined by Louis Varland, Seranthony Dominguez, Kevin Gausman, Chris Bassitt and Jeff Hoffman, was incredible. They held on to that lead and secured the win.
Manager John Schneider thanked the fans and the country following the game. His appreciation for the support was evident as he stated:
“These fans, this country, you deserve all of this.” – Manager John Schneider
Vladimir Guerrero Jr., who won the ALCS Most Valuable Player award for his dominant display, voiced feelings along the same lines. He remarked on the team’s dedication and the vital role of their fans in their success:
“We’ve worked so hard for this. Thank you for the fans who bring the energy every day.” – Vladimir Guerrero Jr.
Join us in congratulating the Toronto Blue Jays on their hard-fought victory! Now, they’re preparing to meet their National League foe in the best-of-seven World Series, which opens Friday at the Rogers Centre. That’s the mentality of the team that wants to ride the wave of their emotional run in the ALCS. They are eager to capture their first championship trophy since their consecutive triumphs in the early ’90s.
