Ticketmaster Faces Challenges Due to Amazon Outage Impacting Blue Jays Game Entry

Toronto Blue Jays officials confirmed on Monday that Ticketmaster is currently experiencing ticket management issues, coinciding with an outage reported by Amazon Web Services (AWS). As of Monday afternoon, it’s still unclear how the outage will impact access to the Rogers Centre for the evening game, should it still take place. The football game kicks off at 8:08 p.m.

The first indications of trouble emerged around 3:11 a.m. Eastern Time, according to updates from AWS’s Health Dashboard. The issue was last documented on October 20, 2025, at 3:14 p.m. Even as fans got ready for the game, questions about ticket availability started to mount.

Fans quickly flooded social media, expressing their outrage with the inability to use paper tickets. The persistent technical issues exacerbated the blow. Of course, many had issues and they expressed frustration with the lack of control over what they could do with their tickets.

In a statement shared on the Blue Jays’ X account, officials acknowledged the situation and reassured fans that they are working diligently to resolve the issues.

“We are actively working with both groups to resolve the issue as soon as possible and will share an update in the coming hours.” – Blue Jays

Ticketmaster Fan Support weighed in, providing an explanation of how the AWS outage has caused widespread problems on a variety of services.

“Due to the AWS (Amazon Web Services) outage that has affected many other services, some fans are still experiencing some intermittent issues on our site. Our teams are working to get all systems back in order as quickly as possible.” – Ticketmaster Fan Support

In a June 28 update, the Blue Jays similarly urged fans to avoid physically handling their tickets.

“Please check back soon for the latest updates and hold off on managing your tickets as we work through this.” – Blue Jays

In the lead-up before the game, both the Blue Jays and Ticketmaster scramble to try and address the issues created by the outage. They’re going to want their systems firing before fans set foot on the stadium grounds.
