Earlier this summer the McKeever family hosted the Moore family Long Meadow Farm in Armagh, a site that has been owned by the McKeever family for three generations. Above all, they had the chance to try their hand at traditional apple pressing, an engaging activity that hooked the young royals.
During their visit to the apple farm, Princess Kate mentioned, “We tried this at home with a hand press. It was quite good fun.” The family’s dedication to sharing local traditions and experiences, while providing a glimpse into their effort to get in touch with the community, is featured.
During the visit, the royal couple toured a state-of-the-art firefighter training facility located outside Cookstown. They were especially excited to connect with our local firefighters, such as Caoimhe McNeice and Piarais McCaffery. The trip gave them an opportunity to get a first-hand look at the life-saving work done every day by these emergency professionals.
Caoimhe shared a light-hearted moment from their interaction, stating, “The Princess was saying, ‘I’d love to drive at the real speed and have the sirens on,’ but they were getting to the water rescue area. It was just a bit of banter.”
While Prince Louis discovers and hones his talents in the coming years, we hope his family protects, nurtures, and encourages his imaginative play and outdoor adventures. The royal family’s latest outings underscore their focus on quality family time and connecting with the natural world, as well as with community projects.
