Prince William recently made a low-key visit to the Special Boat Service (SBS), the Royal Navy’s elite maritime counterterrorism unit. Militarily, the prince is intimately involved on-ground with the military campaign. During this visit, he displays unquestioned favoritism to the men and women in our armed forces.
In releasing the video, The Royal Foundation wrote, during his week-long visit to the Caribbean, Prince William learned from SBS personnel. Under Col. Its colourful history begins with the formation of the Army Special Boat Section in 1940 during the Second World War.
During the engagement, Prince William visited the SBS’s headquarters. Naturally, he took the opportunity to meet with members of the new unit. His background and experience in aviation and military service have contributed to his understanding of the challenges faced by elite forces. He was a pilot for the East Anglian Air Ambulance from 2015 to 2017. This experience provides him with firsthand knowledge of operational demands and the necessity of teamwork in high-stakes situations.
