Yup, J Lo and Ben Affleck definitely rendered all else irrelevant again! They met up again during the New York screening of Lopez’s soon-to-be-released film, “Kiss of the Spider Woman,” on its opening day October 6, 2025. After their two-year marriage, the couple agreed on the divorce terms in January 2025. Less than a year later, this is what happened. The duo’s appearance on the red carpet showcased their continued support for each other’s careers, despite their personal separation.
The opening night of the screening in New York City celebrated the film’s new adaptation from the stage musical by Terrence McNally, John Kander, and Fred Ebb. It paid tribute to Manuel Puig’s racy original 1976 novel. The talented Lopez stars as Ingrid Luna, a super glamorous Hollywood diva. Affleck became an executive producer on “Kiss of the Spider Woman.” So he collaborated with his longtime friend Matt Damon via their upstart production company, Artists Equity. He was (of course) attired in the traditional navy suit and white dress shirt. In the background, Lopez stunned attendees herself in a translucent green Iman gown by Harris Reed, heavy with gorgeous pearl floral appliqué embellishments.
The exes smiled for cameras together upon their red carpet arrival, showcasing their friendly dynamic. Even though they’ve been recently divorced, both seemed to be very supportive of one another and equally as engaged in each other’s company.
At the end of that summer, in August 2024, Jennifer Lopez served Ben Affleck divorce papers. The announcement signaled a swift ending to their romantic adventure which started with unexpected nuptials in Las Vegas during July 2022, 20 years after their first engagement in 2002. Looking back on her own transformation since the split, Lopez said,
