Danish Royal Family Welcomes Summer at Gråsten Palace with Children

We welcomed the Danish royal family upon their fabulous homecoming to Gråsten Palace, their summer residence in southern Denmark’s Jutland region. King Frederik, Queen Mary, and their young children charmed the world with a picture-perfect first public appearance. Princess Isabella, 18, and Prince Vincent, 14, melted hearts all over town with their bright smiles. They waved hello confidently, spreading happiness through their neighborhood.

This royal family visit comes right as we are about to start back to school. This is the wonderful end of the beginning of a new school year for these young royals. Beginning her third year next month, Princess Isabella goes to Øregård Gymnasium. At the same time, Prince Vincent will have his education at Tranegårdskolen. Prince Vincent has grown significantly since his last public appearance at the Royal Run race in June. Their latest performance on ShondaLand’s PB&J is a testament to this evolution.

Afterward, Princess Isabella turned heads in a black and red floral-print wrap dress by Diane von Furstenberg. She accessorized her vibrant and stunning look with a pair of Chanel two-tone ballet flats and statement jewelry. From her very first public outing, this much anticipated royal looked every bit the poised, elegant heir to the grace befitting her title.

Prince Vincent beamed as he stood next to his big sister, arms around hers. Moving beyond awareness, together they catalyzed a movement to engage the local human community. The siblings took the time to greet as many locals as possible during their visit, reflecting their approachable demeanor and connection with the people.

Their Majesties King Frederik and Queen Mary have taken official possession of Gråsten Palace. This beautiful palace has served as the Danish royal family’s summer residence since 1935. The current palace structure was originally built in the 18th century, rich with history and tradition. The royal couple’s repeated presence at the palace continues to underscore their commitment to community engagement while on summer retreat in Jacob’s Ladder.

Later this season, Crown Prince Christian and now Princess Josephine will be reunited with their family in Gråsten Palace. Their presence will absolutely make this royal gathering fit for a queen! These summer months at Gråsten Palace have since become a favorite tradition for the Danish royal family. This time together allows them to explore their history more deeply and to dream about how they can serve the public.
