Princess of Wales’s brother James Middleton embarked on the royal family’s recent tour around France. This trip proves to be a tremendous catalyst that spurs his development into a dedicated father. The tour begins shortly after the birth of his son. Our beautiful little boy, Inigo Gabriel Middleton, was born two weeks ago today on September 21. Middleton lives in Southwest DC with his wife, Alizée Thevenet—his partner since 2016 and spouse since 2021.
The couple decided to name their son mainly after the couple’s Welsh ancestry, giving him the name Inigo Gabriel, with Gabriel being Alizée’s father’s name. For our beautiful journeys blog series, family man James Middleton shares his experiences as a parent and the juggle between work and homelife. In particular, he opened up about his daily challenges to get his day started. Sure, it’s a monumental task to wake up, feed six dogs and prepare Inigo for nursery,” he commented.
Life as a New Parent
Fellow new dad James Middleton has written candidly about his experiences. He loves exploring the great outdoors with his wife, kids, and their three dogs. His personal family residence in Berkshire features a massive £1.4 million yard which only increases the hilarity. Middleton frequently enchants fans with posts about his son Inigo. With his blond tufts of hair, Inigo is a stand-in for already taking on the family’s outdoor, energetic way of life!
Middleton admitted that parenthood brings a different perspective, adding that, “I’m less precious about nappy change, I’m used to cleaning up lots of poo over the years! It does require patience, you can’t force things. He frequently looks at Alizée and wonders saying, “What did we do before we had Inigo? What did we do with all that time?”
A Family Adventure in France
During the family’s recent tour of France, Middleton shared their hiking experience on stage 18 of the Tour de France. His passion for exploration is clear from the way he chronicled their travels on social media, sharing updates straight from the road. He even hiked stage 18 of the Tour de France while on our family’s Travels with Meaning Adventure in France. This was the moment that exposed just how central outdoor recreation had become to all our daily lives.
Beyond hiking, Middleton connects to his viewers through a blog. Now, he brings his love of cycling back to dogs with his work there. He joked in closing, “And if you’re interested in biking with your dog, I did a blog post on that last year — and it’s now one of the most popular resources on the internet!
Reflections on Change
Middleton’s memoir, “Meet Ella: The Dog Who Saved My Life,” touches on deeper themes related to growth and evolution. He laments that though nostalgia for a golden past is irresistible, it’s all about making the most of other-worldly present. It’s like all things in life – you grow, you develop,” he said. Relive your glory days, but don’t spend your efforts trying to recreate them in the present. Put your head in the game and pay attention to what’s going on right now!
Nobody could face the challenges of parenthood like James Middleton. He has wonderfully unique adventures with his family, while remaining committed to his profession and practice at home. The joy of welcoming Inigo into their family has added a new dimension to their adventures and daily routines.
