Prince Louis Awaits His Tennis Debut as Royal Family Fosters Love for the Sport

Prince Louis of Wales was the center of attention during the Trooping The Colour celebration. He certainly cut a lovely figure on 14 June 2025 at Buckingham Palace in London. He’s still just seven years old too and hasn’t yet made a public debut at Wimbledon. In fact, his siblings, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, have both already graced the stage there. His passion for the game is evident. He is particularly excited about the prospect of becoming involved in the sport so many of his new family members already enjoy.

Tennis Prince George, 11, and Princess Charlotte, 10, have both shown lots of enthusiasm taking part in a number of tennis activities. More recently, we’ve seen them alongside their parents making full use of the royal box at Wimbledon. This familiar hand-holding suggests the development of a wider tennis dynasty within the royal family. Princess Kate has remarked on their collective interest, stating, “George is playing. They’re all playing, even Louis. They’re all keen.”

Louis is still a bit young and untested, but he hasn’t left Wimbledon gifts either. At least for now, he’s tackling one of his greatest loves of the sport from home. Rumors have it that he’s shot on their property while witnessing Princess Kate’s natural tennis form. “He tries to practise the standing and staying serious, like us,” shared Joel, a family friend who has observed Prince Louis’s attempts to mimic ball boys during these practice sessions.

In 2019, during Men’s Finals Day at Wimbledon, tennis legend Stan Smith presented a special gift to Prince Louis—a signed pair of Adidas Stan Smith trainers. The sympathetic gesture took place in the Royal Box. It has been one of Prince Louis’s most beloved links to the world of tennis ever since. The winner of Wimbledon in 1972, Smith remains an important force in the sport. He’s just as well known for the legendary white trainers that sport his name.

Prince Louis is maturing rapidly and honing his craft. It appears as though he’ll be taking a trip to Wimbledon with his family very soon! Royal performance royalty norms on the presence of babies in the royal box might be part of the reason for him to attend so late. The royal family’s careful approach to such public appearances reflects their commitment to fostering a healthy environment for their children’s engagement with sports.

In the past Princess Kate has let on that Prince Louis has already begun his tennis education. It is obvious that his enthusiasm for the beautiful game, that has captivated his whole family, knows no bounds. He’s always looking and working hard on his craft. Royal family aficionados are optimistic that he’ll be joining his older brothers at Wimbledon any day now, making tennis an even bigger part of their lives.
