Lauren Sánchez has unveiled the designer of her breathtaking wedding dress, which she kept a secret from her husband, Jeff Bezos, until their special day. The very loved up couple officially got married on Friday, in a beautiful wedding ceremony. They spent nine days with family and friends celebrating their love in Venice, Italy.
Sánchez was inspired for her dress by brides of the 1950s, surrounding herself with the beauty of that time. That moment came when she found a picture of actress Sophia Loren. In the photo, Loren stole everyone’s attention while wearing a glamorous red dress with silver high lace that covered her neck. Sánchez was pleased to think, “That’s it. That’s the dress,” knowing that this specific design would convey her vision in spades.
Her wedding dress—which was worn at city hall for the ceremony only—was made by Italian fashion house Dolce & Gabbana and took 900 hours to make. Sánchez getting an early fitting for her dress at the Dolce & Gabbana atelier in Milan. She called the experience life-changing and said it was a deeply personal journey.
To have a dress made especially for me like this — so intimate, so personal, so unique. She shared. For her, the gown was more than just a visual representation of her vision—it marked an important milestone in her life. As she reflected on her evolving desires for the dress, she noted, “It went from ‘I want a simple, sexy modern dress’ to ‘I want something that evokes a moment,’ and where I am right now.”
Sánchez expressed her gratitude towards the designers, acknowledging their artistry with a heartfelt message on social media: “Thank you @dolcegabbana for the magic you made.” Her wedding dress is astonishing — it’s been described as “Not just a gown, but a piece of poetry.” This beautiful mural has received extensive media coverage, with its photos making the front of a Vogue story that ran on Friday, placing Sánchez on the magazine’s cover.
The wedding festivities didn’t end after the ceremony. Sánchez went on Instagram to post photos that documented some of the best memories they’ve made during their wedding celebration. She sent me one incredible photo of the two of them, arms raised, marching up to the altar. A second featured Sánchez exiting the Aman Venice hotel on day two of the couples wedding festivities.
