Charges Filed Against Marius Borg Høiby Linked to Sexual Assault and Rape Allegations

Oslo police have charged Marius Borg Høiby, the oldest son of Norway’s Crown Princess Mette-Marit. As you may know, he is accused of some very grave charges, including rape, sexual assault, and bodily harm. The 28-year-old stepson of Norway’s Crown Prince Haakon is in serious trouble. These claims come from one case with a large number of alleged victims—potentially well into the double digits.

The charges include one count of first-degree criminal sexual conduct with penetration. Two cases of rape sans penetration, four cases of sexual assault, and two cases of bodily harm. Høiby has come under fire since multiple 2024 arrests for drug, assault, and domestic violence charges. He was initially charged with preliminary charges of bodily harm and criminal damage.

>In the wake of these developments, Marius Borg Høiby is still free while he awaits what could be a long-delayed trial. By legal standards, he deserves a presumption of innocence until the court decides its outcome.

Andreas Kruszewski, a spokesperson for the Oslo police, welcomed the indictment already filed. When pressed, he refused to provide further information, including the number of victims.

“I cannot go into further detail about the number of victims in the case beyond confirming that it is a double-digit number,” – Andreas Kruszewski

Petar Sekulic, representing Høiby, stated that they are “absolutely taking the accusations very seriously,” yet emphasized that Høiby does not acknowledge wrongdoing in most cases, particularly those concerning sexual abuse and violence.

Marius Borg Høiby, former royal in Norway, who lived with Crown Princess Mette-Marit and Crown Prince Haakon. The whole ensemble shared the royal residence with the couple’s two children. Now he lives more than a hundred miles away in a house of his own, which is near the royal couple’s separate home. This breakaway occurs as he is being threatened with big legal hurdles.

Høiby’s biological father, Morton Borg, has an extensive criminal record that includes prison time for drug and violent crimes. These family connections have further attracted media attention to Høiby’s case in light of the grave charges he now faces.
