Hayley Atwell’s Dogs Steal the Show with Unintentional Farting Incident

Hayley Atwell, known for her role in the upcoming film Mission: Impossible — The Final Reckoning, found herself in a lighthearted predicament involving her two French bulldogs, Wolfie and Iris. When the incident happened on set, it was during a totally normal movie-watching hangout with her costar, Tom Cruise.

Atwell introduced Cruise to her precious fur babies, Wolfie and Iris, who he met for the first time. As she continued sharing, the subsequent meeting took place after Cruise showed an interest in Allison’s dogs. “The first time he said, ‘Oh, I hear you have dogs. You should bring them over,’” Atwell shared. The friendly atmosphere became hilarious almost immediately as these dogs got totally at-ease — with the Hollywood legend.

Before the three of us started watching a movie, Wolfie and Iris knew they wanted to get rowdy. Atwell noted, “We’re watching [the movie], and they were sitting on [Cruise], and they were farting on him the whole way through the movie.” The unexpected flatulence created an amusing distraction during a lull in the film, prompting Atwell to turn to Cruise and apologize for her dogs’ behavior.

She handled the awkward moment not just with grace, but with comedy, saying, “Just all the tootin’! Later, Atwell admitted that it was mortifying for her, too, but insisted that it was all good natured fun.

Cruise, who was snacking on popcorn at the moment, rolled with the pooch silliness. Atwell remarked that he looked “very curious, but thankfully for us, looked well fed.” That embarrassment turned into a test of character. Not only did the incident give me material for some good laughs, it became a weird milestone of sorts. As Atwell put it, “And I thought, ‘Well that’s quite a good test of character,’ because if a dog likes you, then you’re a pretty solid guy, I think, right? They don’t lie.”
