Kelli Giddish will return as a series regular in the upcoming 27th season of “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.” Giddish came on-board in season 13, as Detective Amanda Rollins. She left her position as a series regular halfway through season 24. For fans, her return is the biggest deal imaginable. She has undoubtedly always been the central figure to the overarching lore of the series.

Throughout this time, her character, Amanda Rollins, has had the benefit of a very special friendship with Captain Olivia Benson, played by Mariska Hargitay. In other breaking news from within the show, some major cast changes are about to happen. Juliana Aidén Martinez was added to the regular cast as Detective Martinez starting with season 26. She and fellow co-star Octavio Pisano will be leaving the show behind after this current season.
