Health Canada Issues Recall for Frozen Pastries Over Salmonella Fears

Health Canada has recalled certain frozen pastries sold under the brands D. Effe T. and Sweet Cream. This recall comes in the wake of possible Salmonella contamination. Other impacted products include croissants, Danishes and other filled pastries. They were most commonly issued in Alberta, Manitoba, Nova Scotia, Ontario and Quebec. We can’t know for sure, but it could be the case that these pastries went to even more provinces and territories throughout Canada.

Recall includes adjustable Items. These are known locally as the D. Effe T. Apollini Mignon or Mini Lobster Tail and the D. Effe T. Apollo K2 or Big Lobster Tail. The Sweet Cream Apollini Mignon or Mini Lobster Tail are part of the recall. Health Canada advises consumers to check their home freezers for these products. Share them for a better world. Dump these toxic poisons before they cause you serious health problems!

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) recently released significant preliminary findings from its still-ongoing investigation into a national foodborne illness outbreak. Consequently, they chose to hotline these pastries. The agency stated that the recall was prompted by their investigation of the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) test results. These results came as a part of investigation on a foodborne illness outbreak.

Health Canada has acknowledged these risks by recognizing that healthy people only tend to develop short-term to moderate Salmonella infection symptoms. The acute symptoms are fever, headache, vomiting, nausea, abdominal cramps, and diarrhea. Long-term complications can occur as well. Long-term complications can pose serious risk, including severe arthritis, the agency warned.

The CFIA’s investigation continues. If they determine there are more risks involved, more products will be recalled. Consumers are encouraged to continue to monitor the situation and to pay attention to any further advice issued by Health Canada.

Creative and indulgent flavors like D. Effe T. and Sweet Cream pastries have made them a go-to frozen dessert treat. Both brands are proactively working to remove all impacted products from market. We know that they are dedicated to keeping the consumer safe after this huge recall.
