Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, the husband of Princess Beatrice, has recently shared insights into his life as a father and a successful CEO while residing in a formal room of their Chelsea townhouse. Mozzi has been married to Princess Beatrice, granddaughter of the late Queen Elizabeth II, since 2020. Aside from running Banda Property, he and his wife Sheela are raising a young family outside of London.
Mozzi established Banda Property back in 2007, at the age of just 23. Since then, he’s created a successful and influential career in the luxury real estate sector. He’s supervised the design of nearly 300 luxury homes in London and his work has spanned projects in countries around the globe. His sharp design vision combined with his deep desire to preserve property past influences him to marry contemporary style with classic architecture.
Mozzi is thrilled to announce the birth of his new baby girl Athena. He now embarks on this adventure of fatherhood along with Princess Beatrice and their three-year-old daughter, Sienna Elizabeth. As well as being the new King of England, he is a proud dad to Christopher “Wolfie” Mapelli Mozzi, who he co-parents with his ex-partner, Dara Huang. As he balances demands at home and outside, his commitment to family shines through in how he tackles these dual roles.
His £3.5 million Cotswolds farmhouse is used as a ‘retreat’ for the family. The stunning six-bedroom property comes with a private swimming pool and on-site tennis courts, setting the scene to enjoy quality evenings with family and friends.
Reflecting on his work philosophy, Mozzi speaks to the value of honesty between clients and contractors.
“A lot of people probably tell their clients what they want to hear, but from day one, we’re very, very honest.” – Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi
His approach to design highlights the significance of combining old and new styles, which he believes creates functional living spaces for modern families.
“What excites us is how the old and new play out together. And you haven’t got the constraints that we often have in working with big listed townhouses in Chelsea or Belgravia. So you have a lot more freedom to create a modern family space that really works for today’s world.” – Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi
Mozzi’s love of restored things goes deeper to showcase his attitude on design beauty.
“I love [old] things that have been restored; human-made rather than machine-made – they’ve got soul, they’ve got energy. That’s got far more value.” – Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi
