Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, has recently given voice to the desires that many of us have for our children amid a new and exciting career juggling act. Markle caught up with her beauty BFF and colorist Kadi Lee, co-creator of hair wellness line Highbrow Hippie. On the podcast, she opened up about her desire to be a positive role model for her son, Archie, and her daughter, Princess Lilibet. This time of her life, she added, is the “happiest” she has ever been.
During a recent event where she attended a performance of Gypsy, Markle wore a stylish black shirt paired with a Caroline Herrera houndstooth pencil skirt. After the show, she met the cast and she was just bursting with joy. In an Instagram post, she connected her love of public transit with her admiration for Broadway star Audra McDonald.
All the parents will likely be nodding when Markle shares her determination to build confidence in her son and daughter.
“I certainly want to role model for my children. I’m conscious of not just raising a very strong and confident woman, but also having a son. It’s just as paramount of importance for young men to be raised with a confidence and sense of self for the women around them.” – Meghan Markle
Alongside an aspirational family life, Markle is balancing a dynamic professional career. She recently released her lifestyle brand, As Ever. Along with the first podcast series, she launched the second series, Confessions of a Female Founder. The Duchess further complemented her new release with the Netflix show With Love, Meghan, reflecting her commitment to the arts and social justice.
Markle’s commitments have kept her ridiculously busy. Her travel log as of late would favor the frequent flyer doorstep, most notably attending the TIME100 Summit, celebrating her and her husband, Prince Harry, being honored as two of 2021’s most influential people.
Alongside her professional pursuits, Markle made it her focus to be available for the important thresholds in her children’s lives. She reminded me that Archie is losing his first tooth. She further stated that it was her hope to return home in time to celebrate this milestone.
“Is going to lose his first tooth this week, and I hope to make it home in time for it!” – Meghan Markle
Markle further explained that establishing a loving environment for her children was essential.
“My kids are coming home for their nap, and 80 people in the kitchen isn’t the childhood memory I’d like them to have.” – Meghan Markle
Reflecting on her current happiness, Markle stated,
“This is the happiest I’ve ever been. To have a partner and husband who is so supportive, and to have healthy kids who are so joyful in the freeness of their life and the safety of their life that we create for them.” – Meghan Markle
