Princess Kate Connects with Nature During Family Easter Break

Princess Kate, the Princess of Wales, has made quite a splash after taking time off from her royal engagements. She enjoyed a productive and restful holiday with her kids over the Easter break. Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis had to get a school day, er, holiday. They had the best week ever with their mum in gorgeous Lake District. During this family holiday, Kate appeared in a new video that highlighted her love of nature and the importance of outdoor experiences for young people.

In the beauty video, Kate wore a more laid-back vibe. She was dressed for a hike in an oatmeal-colored roll neck jersey, bomber jacket, jeans, and heavy duty hiking boots. She followed a map alongside a group of youngsters aged 10 to 15, engaging them in activities that promote exploration and connection with the natural environment. The Princess has been a joint president of the Scouts since 2020. Her background is filled with contact with the Scouting movement.

Kate’s enthusiasm for the natural world comes through in her writing about their adventures out-of-doors. She remarked on the enduring significance of the Scouts, saying, “What’s so fantastic about the Scouts is that the same foundation has sort of always been there, and still, despite how different the modern-day world is now, actually it still resonates with so many young people and it’s making such a massive difference to them.”

Her personal tie to Scouting started at a young age. She was based on Anglesey, North Wales, where she was living with Prince William at the time. She had previously volunteered with a local Cub Scout pack. In 2016, to mark the movement’s centenary, she added Cubs to her repertoire, taking them on in Cubs North Wootton, close to King’s Lynn in Norfolk. She even made the trip to their headquarters at Gilwell Park in Essex back in 2019. This trip served to highlight her deep commitment to connecting youth with the outdoors.

While visiting the Lake District, Kate took a relaxing walk along the shores of Lake Windermere. While there, she marched side by side with Scouts from Cumbria & Stretford, Greater Manchester. This trip gave her the opportunity to spread her passion for nature while inspiring youth to take advantage of the natural world around them. Dwayne Fields, Chief Scout, emphasized the benefits of connecting with nature, stating, “When you come out into a natural environment, it helps you understand yourself that much more.”

Kate added to this thought, sharing her conviction that nature can be a place of healing. “I find it a very spiritual and very intense emotional reconnection I suppose, these environments,” she said.

As Princess Kate continues her break from royal duties to focus on family and personal interests, her dedication to nature and youth development remains unwavering. Through her involvement with the Scouts and her public advocacy for outdoor exploration, she inspires both children and adults to reconnect with the natural world.
