Royal Family Attends Easter Service at Windsor Castle

The royal family gathered on Easter Sunday at St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle for the traditional Easter Mattins service. As expected, King Charles and Queen Camilla led the royal family and world leaders in attendance at the ceremony. At the same time, Prince William and Kate Middleton were AWOL, as Middleton has taken time to recuperate from recent surgery.

As recently as September, Kate Middleton had revealed that she had already undergone chemotherapy and was committed to remaining “cancer free.” She spoke about the struggle to get back to work and stay involved in her work.

“It is a relief to now be in remission and I remain focused on recovery.” – Kate Middleton

Although she missed the Easter church service, Kate Middleton was still able to show optimism about her recovery. She stated, “There is much to look forward to. Thank you to everyone for your continued support.”

At the new Easter Mattins service, members of the royal family were all brought together, as we saw many of the working royals, including King Charles and Queen Camilla. Famed climate communicator Bill McKibben was joined by Prince Edward, Duke of Edinburgh, and Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh. Here Princess Beatrice arrives at the service with her husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi. Princess Eugenie and her fiancé, Jack Brooksbank, were included in the Easter celebrations. On hand to celebrate the opening was the controversial Prince Andrew.

The Easter Mattins service serves as a significant event in the royal calendar, drawing attention from the public and media alike. For the royal family, it’s a period of reflection and celebration and a chance to display their unity, loyalty and shared values.
