Singapore Changi Airport Named World’s Best Airport for Record 13th Time

For an unprecedented 13th time Singapore Changi Airport has taken top honors as the World’s Best Airport. This award is awarded by the internationally recognized Skytrax World Airport Awards. This recognition is a testament to Changi’s consistent focus on providing the best air travel experience and customer service. The airport still leads the way in both facilities and amenities that improve the entire passenger experience.

Changi Airport’s success is attributed not only to its award-winning services but to its substantial investment in future improvements. In the next six years, the airport will be investing well over $2 billion. This funding will help it grow and improve its services and facilities. This investment is a testimony of Changi’s commitment to continue its leadership as a frontrunner in the global aviation landscape.

Changi recently rolled out early check-in services in a bid to improve the passenger experience. Our travelers can now check their bags up to 48 hours in advance of their flights! This program is further intended to enhance an innovative passenger journey, providing travelers with a more convenient and faster way to move through the airport.

Beyond being an important global transit point in the region, Changi Airport has evolved into a destination itself. Both arriving and departing passengers can immerse themselves in an array of new attractions and amenities. These experiences make their time in the airport an exciting prelude to their vacation! Among its most ambitious features is the Jewel shopping mall. This beautiful 10-story building has plans to visit more than 80 million guests in 2024! Jewel includes several indoor gardens, the most spectacular of which is a butterfly center. It provides an irreplaceable respite from the stresses of travel.

The World’s tallest indoor waterfall, the Rain Vortex, is the stunning centerpiece of Jewel. At about 40 m tall, it overtakes the claim of being the world’s largest indoor waterfall! This striking natural wonder has become the visual focal point for visitors, captivating and inspiring millions of travelers from around the globe each year.

Changi Airport has seen accolades as a gastronomic wonderland. It received a plethora of awards for its culinary scene, including World’s Best Airport Dining. It took home these titles in the process – World’s Best Airport Washrooms, and Best Airport in Asia at the World Airport Awards. These awards highlight Changi’s focus on delivering a well-rounded, happy airport experience.

Changi Airport really does excel at delivering an unconventional, but positive shopping experience. It has repeatedly been awarded both Best Airport Shopping and Best Airport in the Middle East. A depth of shopping options meets the eclectic and cosmopolitan tastes of every consumer. This variety further supports our longstanding reputation for excellence.

As part of its longtime expansion, Changi Airport is building a fifth terminal, set to open in the 2030s. This terminal will serve to address the growing passenger demand needs as well as add significant capacity to the airport.

Customer service is apparently a top priority for Changi, and it certainly shines through. This commitment is what fuels its consistently top-rated status from Skytrax and other airport raters. The airport strives to provide a seamless travel experience through its wide range of amenities, including entertainment options, dining choices, and extensive shopping facilities.
