Mantavius “Lebron” Presley is a senior at Douglas County High School, Georgia. He’s made history. He just got accepted to 61 different colleges and universities! Lebron started his college application process on August 1, 2024, the first day of his senior year. Through his dedication, he was accepted into a number of these institutions and earned well in excess of $1.1 million in scholarships! He is currently working hard to achieve his dream of becoming a physician. His dream of working as an anesthesiologist is now possible!
LeBron’s path to academic success is powered by the determination and drive of his mother, Chasity Green. As a dedicated single parent, she continues to inspire him every day. Green has been LeBron’s most vocal advocate during his entire schooling. Very early, she planted in him this idea that greatness was possible. In many ways, her relentless encouragement has done the most to inspire LeBron. It allowed him to make the most of his opportunities in high school and after.
LeBron is looking at some elite institutions for his college education. His favorites are the University of Alabama, Morehouse College, Xavier University of Louisiana, Howard University and Mercer University. In October, the University of Alabama was the first to formally accept LeBron. This was the beginning of a great run of college acceptance good fortune for him.
LeBron’s academic journey is now further highlighted with his incredible college acceptances. He is highly sought after because of his active leadership, which illustrates his dedication and commitment. In addition, he has been an NHS Student Council member and NHS public relations officer. He’s worked with Future Business Leaders of America, which shows his dedication to studies and building future leaders. Despite his busy schedule, LeBron works at a local pizza restaurant, balancing his responsibilities with remarkable poise.
For other students who look up to him, Lebron offers sage advice: take the academic journey one step at a time. He emphasizes that grades do not define a person's potential or future success, encouraging peers to focus on their personal growth and aspirations. Even still, I would argue that this perspective has played a role in his resilience and drive to succeed.
From an early age, LeBron was passionate about going to college. Whatever field he ends up in, he’s dedicated to creating the most innovative and massive change he can. His early decision to pursue higher education with such determination reflects his commitment to achieving his goals despite any obstacles he may face.
