Nestlé Recalls Frozen Meals Over Possible Plastic Contamination

Nestlé USA
has announced a recall of several frozen meal offerings amid concerns of potential plastic contamination. The affected products include Lean Cuisine meals such as Butternut Squash Ravioli, Spinach Artichoke Ravioli, Lemon Garlic Shrimp Stir Fry, and Stouffer’s 96-ounce Party Size Chicken Lasagna. These items were available at major retailers from September 2024 through March 2025 and produced between August 2024 and March 2025.

The recall, initiated by Nestlé USA, underscores the company's commitment to maintaining the quality, safety, and integrity of its products as a top priority. Customers are advised against preparing or consuming the recalled meals and should contact Nestlé through their dedicated helpline for further assistance. The full list of impacted meals, including their batch numbers and best-by dates, is accessible on Nestlé USA's website and the FDA's online platform.

Nestlé USA is collaborating with both the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Department of Agriculture to ensure a thorough and effective recall process. This action follows a similar recall in December 2020 when Lean Cuisine Baked Chicken meal products were withdrawn from the market due to the risk of plastic contamination.

"We are actively investigating the source of the wood-like material. We are confident that this is an isolated issue, and we have taken action to address it," stated Nestlé USA.

The recall was officially announced on March 17 and subsequently shared on the FDA website. Customers seeking more information or needing to return affected products can reach out to Nestlé at 681-1676, available Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. ET.
