As part of the celebrations for the Egg McMuffin's golden birthday, McDonald's USA President Joe Erlinger emphasized the significance of the breakfast menu, describing it as "a cherished tradition and cornerstone of our brand." The fast-food giant aims to enhance its breakfast experience, which Erlinger stated is "anchored in great value and high-quality ingredients."
To mark the occasion, McDonald's will launch a special deal on March 2. Customers can purchase an Egg McMuffin or Sausage McMuffin with Egg breakfast sandwich for just $1 through the McDonald’s App. This offer coincides with National Egg McMuffin Day and exemplifies McDonald's commitment to providing a "one-of-a-kind breakfast experience."
The celebration continues beyond March 2 with a buy one, get one free deal on the Sausage McMuffin with Egg. Available from March 3 through March 30, this offer is exclusive to McDelivery orders placed through the app. The expanded menu aims to cater to increasing customer demand for diverse breakfast options.
McDonald's initially introduced breakfast in 1975 with the launch of the iconic Egg McMuffin. Over the years, the breakfast menu has grown to include popular items like crispy hash browns, fluffy hotcakes, and McGriddles. By the end of 2025, more than half of all U.S. restaurants will feature McGriddles, with nationwide availability by the end of 2026.
In addition to these offerings, McDonald's is expanding its renowned bagel sandwiches across its menus nationwide. Customers can choose between classic bacon, egg and cheese, or steak, egg and cheese varieties.
