A British couple, Andrew and Dawn Searle, were found dead in their home in the village of Les Pesquiès, located south of Villefranche-de-Rouergue, France. Their bodies were discovered by a neighbor at approximately 12:20 p.m. on Thursday. Both retired and in their 60s, Andrew and Dawn had relocated to France from Scotland nearly a decade ago. Andrew was a former fraud investigator, while Dawn worked in project management.
The local mayor, Jean-Sébastien Orcibal, quickly dismissed any speculation that the tragic deaths resulted from a burglary "gone wrong." He also noted that no knife was found at the scene. Public prosecutor Nicolas Rigot-Muller confirmed that both individuals met violent deaths but currently cannot establish that either was a homicide.
