Drew Basile, a 24-year-old master's student and notable contestant from reality TV shows Survivor and Jeopardy, is aiming for a comeback in the competitive world of Survivor. Basile, who previously competed on Survivor 45 and reached the final six before being blindsided by his own alliance, now sets his sights on the milestone season, Survivor 50. His ambition to return is fueled by a belief that CBS could greatly benefit from his participation, given his unique perspective and strategic acumen.
Basile's journey in the realm of competitive television did not end with Survivor. He made history as the first Survivor alumnus to appear on Jeopardy, where he showcased his intellectual prowess with a seven-game winning streak. This impressive performance earned him a spot in the Jeopardy Tournament of Champions, where he advanced to the semifinals and accumulated $138,403 in winnings.
"I've got a little bit of a different perspective than some of the other contestants — I'm not afraid to get mean," Drew Basile revealed, highlighting the competitive edge he believes sets him apart.
With an evolving viewpoint on what it takes to succeed in Survivor, Basile expresses renewed confidence in his ability to excel if given another opportunity. He sees words as a powerful tool, both in the context of Jeopardy and Survivor.
"You've got a lot of good talkers on the show these days, but for me, words are a weapon. I say the right word on Jeopardy every time, and I win $100,000. I can definitely say the right words to win a million on Survivor," Basile stated.
As he considers his next steps, Basile remains open to exploring new opportunities that align with his skills and interests. While he has received offers to appear on additional shows, he intends to be discerning in his choices.
"I'll never say no to anything, but we're looking for really unique experiences that I know I can win, that will be fun, and that I'll be good at," said Basile.
