Invictus Games 2025: A Historic Celebration of Courage and Winter Sports

The Invictus Games 2025 marked a historic moment as it became the first iteration to include winter sports, captivating audiences across Whistler and Vancouver, Canada. Held from February 8 to February 16, the Games brought together wounded, injured, and sick military service personnel from around the globe. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, graced the opening ceremony with their presence, setting the stage for a week of inspiring performances and fierce competition.

The opening ceremony dazzled attendees with performances by renowned artists Katy Perry, Noah Kahan, Chris Martin, and Nelly Furtado. Prince Harry, who launched the Invictus Games in 2014, was a central figure throughout the event, emphasizing his commitment to the cause. Meghan Markle introduced her husband with a heartfelt speech at an intimate dinner for competitors.

"We are just thrilled to be here, and I would be remiss if I didn't take the opportunity to introduce someone who means a lot to me. And I know he means quite a lot to all of you. You will see him throughout this week." – Meghan

Prince Harry and Meghan attended an NHL game between the Vancouver Canucks and the Toronto Maple Leafs, where Harry performed the ceremonial puck drop at Rogers Arena. The couple appeared deeply connected, exchanging loving glances and holding hands throughout various events.

In a spontaneous gesture, Meghan once again spoke warmly of Prince Harry during the Games.

"You will see him at the Games. You will see him probably curling with you, cheering you on." – Meghan

"He's in it with you, and you'll see him through all of those moments. He'll be there with you." – Meghan

Adding to the excitement, Prince Joachim and Princess Marie of Denmark are set to join the Invictus Games on February 15, just a day before the closing ceremony. Their participation adds another layer of international support for this meaningful event.
