Naama Levy, a 20-year-old Israeli woman, has been released by Hamas after being held captive for 477 days. Her release occurred on Saturday, alongside three other female Israeli soldiers, as part of a ceasefire and hostage release agreement between Israel and Hamas. This development marks a significant phase in a deal mediated by Qatar, Egypt, and the United States.
The current ceasefire agreement is set to unfold in three distinct phases. Phase one began on January 19 and is expected to span six weeks. During this period, an additional 26 hostages, in addition to the seven already freed, are anticipated to be released. In exchange, Israel will release nearly 2,000 Palestinian prisoners. The details of the second and third phases remain under development and will be decided during the initial phase.
