Celebrating Last Year’s Winners

The last Emmy Awards celebrated some truly brilliant performances and productions, and “Shōgun” was the big winner. It also managed to take home the biggest award of the night—Outstanding Drama Series—as well as two individual acting awards. Highlights included Anna Sawai winning Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series and Hiroyuki Sanada winning Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series.

Jeremy Allen White won a Golden Globe for his performance in FX’s The Bear. This accomplishment is his second Emmy win in this same category, furthering his accolades after “Shōgun.” Jean Smart made headlines by winning Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series for her performance in “Hacks,” while “Hacks” secured the award for Outstanding Comedy Series. British immigration drama “Baby Reindeer” had a great night, snagging the big prize for Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series.

“Great storytelling depends on the collaboration, dedication and vision of so many across our creative community,” – Cris Abrego

Upcoming Nominations and Hosts

Those awards’ nominations this year will be announced by performers Harvey Guillén and Brenda Song. We all look forward to this announcement. New productions such as “The Pitt,” “Adolescence,” “Nobody Wants This,” and “Paradise” are poised to garner nominations. We anticipate stiff competition, indicative of the innovative and varied programming that has flourished in recent years.

Comedian and actor Nate Bargatze will host the 77th Emmy Awards, bringing plenty of laughs to the annual celebration. Now that the industry is preparing for this year’s Annual Meeting, eyes and anticipation turn to which shows, performances, and acts will be featured.
